A faction within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State has strongly rejected the recently announced structure of the “City Boy Movement,” describing it as biased, exclusionary, and driven by personal interests.
In a statement issued on behalf of concerned stakeholders, the group expressed dissatisfaction with the composition of the leadership list, alleging that it fails to reflect fairness, inclusivity, and the broader interests of party members across the state. According to them, the process of selecting coordinators and key officials lacked transparency and sidelined loyal party supporters who have contributed significantly to the growth of the APC in Adamawa.
“The structure as presented is clearly one-sided and does not represent the collective will of the party. It appears to favor a select few individuals, promoting selfish interests rather than unity and progress,” the statement read.
The group further called for an immediate review and restructuring of the movement’s leadership framework to ensure equal representation across all local government areas and political blocs within the state. They emphasized the need for fairness and consultation in order to avoid internal divisions that could weaken the party ahead of future political engagements.
They also urged party leaders at both state and national levels to intervene and ensure that justice, equity, and internal democracy are upheld within the APC structure in Adamawa State.
The development signals growing tension within the party, as stakeholders continue to push for inclusiveness and transparency in political organization and leadership appointments.
